pantone chip cookies...

a friend put me onto this cute website where these pantone chip cookies were featured. a US based designer decided to win over her clients in a new and inventive way   

design+food+novelty= more clients+unexpected exposure

she made them from scratch and mixed and matched the colours herself! they caused such a ruckus, that she was invited to an exhibition in NY to showcase her colourful designs...

a sock of a different colour...

a new trend? a daggy phase?? who knows, but i'm absolutely in love with these woven socks. unfortunately i can't tell you where to buy them, but i know they are most definitely socks and not leggings! though that may bring me a little closer to finding them...

violated with stylish boots...

my butt was violated today...no, despite my nickname being shAnal, not in the way you may think. a woman in the street kicked me from behind. and dang, she was wearing some bangin' boots! she mistook me for a friend of hers (a very stylish one i might add). when i turned around, the look on her face brought me more joy than eating pistachio macaroons...

she felt horrible, and wanted to make it up to me, so she offered to buy me a coffee. i took her up on her offer and as we walked towards the nearest coffee shop together, i kicked her back. we laughed like little school girls flashing little school boys, enjoyed a coffee and said our goodbyes.

some days, i just wish i could float away, away from all of the day to day dramas and issues...to a place where my mind is clear. just looking at this image helps me get closer to where i want to be, and it reminds me of an old fav movie 'the craft' ;-)

the colour of my first car...

the colour yellow generally reminds me of my first car-a 1976 volkswagen beetle that i had the choice of spraying any colour i wanted. lucky for me i couldn't afford the metallic blue/purple colour i originally chose *spew*. this colour was my second option. it's nice to see that Michael Kors and i are on the same wave length... 10 years later

i know mum is always with me now...

happy mothers day to all of the lovely mothers out there

there has been so much doubt in my mind since my mum passed away 2 years ago as to whether or not she is 'always with me' as people say. i do feel as though it's a nice thought to have, however it's not enough for me. so i went and got my fav photo of my mum tattooed on me so i 'know' that she is always with me now. in fact in the photo you can see she is listening to my heart, and she has sparkles on her shoes like on the wizard of oz. (click your heels 3 times and you can go home) there is something so comforting about this to me.

 from days like my wedding day, i can just look down and see her, when i have my children, she will be there with me the entire time, down to the irrelevant times you just want your mum there to make everything seem better.

happy mothers day mum, i miss you so much every day and would give anything just for one more hug
