it's no shock that i am well and truly a sucker for a good book cover. it was initially the bright colourful cover that made me snatch this book quick smart: the flavour thesaurus by Niki Segnit

upon closer inspection of this divine creation, i was instantly in love. it contains descriptions of the qualities and resulting flavours of hundreds of food pairings. finally i can create a meal using both chocolate and hot salami...well maybe not that combo but many, many others. it shares flavours that surprisingly compliment each other and recipes to help you make them yourself.

go and hunt one down, i highly recommend it

this is a love post: go and hug your mum

well today is full of mixed emotions, it has now officially been 2 years since my mum died of cancer. so a very emotional day to say the least. however it is also a day in which i get my fiance back after a month away. i am ever so grateful to get a big hug off him when i need it the most.

do me a favour, please go give your mum a big hug and tell her you love her...
